Our Team

Lamont Tyler Bunyon is a graduate of Hampton University (1994) and the New England College of Optometry (1999). Dr. Lamont has practiced optometry in Prince George’s County and the Washington, DC area for over twenty-five years. His practice specialties include dry eye care and hard to fit contact lens services.

Dr. Bunyon was awarded the 2012 Optometrist of the Year by the Maryland Optometric Association for the State of Maryland for his outstanding leadership skills and service to the profession, patients and the community. He has been a staff optometrist for Kaiser Permanente and the Lasik Vision Institute. Dr. Lamont has served in the past as First Vice President, Maryland Optometric Association, President, Central Maryland Optometric Society, Secretary and Treasurer for the National Optometric Association. Dr. Lamont published his first Amazon best selling book in 2019 “FourSight”, an essential guide to fellow Doctors of Optometry on how to optimize your eyecare practice. Additionally, he volunteers as a youth mentor as the President of the 100 Black Men of America (Prince Georges County) and as the Past-President of the Sigma Alpha Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. (Charles County). Dr. Lamont was awarded the prestigious James T. Black National Health and Wellness Award by the 100 Black Men of America, Inc. in 2023.

Mesheca Carter Bunyon is an honors graduate of Morgan State University and an honors graduate of The Pennsylvania College of Optometry. Dr. Mesheca has been in private practice for over twenty-five years. Dr. Bunyon specializes in ocular disease, refractive surgery care, primary eye care, and pediatric eye care. She has served as President of the Maryland Board of Optometry and has been on the board, appointed by the Governor of Maryland, since 2015.

In the past, Dr. Mesheca has served as Secretary of the National Optometric Association, Region I Trustee for the National Optometric Association, and President of the Central Maryland Optometric Society. She is an active member of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority and the Past Vice President of the National Harbor Chapter of Jack and Jill, Inc.

Dr. Mesheca spends her free time with her family and acting in local plays. In 2020, she published her first book, "Fix My Staff", an Amazon best-selling book advising best employee practices. She is a mother to sons, Micah and Madden, and wife to Dr. Lamont Bunyon. Dr. Bunyon is a past staff optometrist for LensCrafters, America’s Best Contact and Lenses, Kaiser Permanente, Solomon Surgery & Eye Care, My EyeDoctor and the Lasik Vision Institute.
